Media Release – 7th Feb, 2008
The Australian Sprintcar Allstars
supported by Fire Service Plus makes
its historic debut this Saturday night
(February 9th) at Rolling
Thunder Raceway Bacchus Marsh with
round one of the inaugural series.
18 nominations have been received so
far and that is sure to grow as
drivers from Victoria, New South
Wales, South Australia and Queensland
flock to the big track.
The first round of the Sprintcar
Allstars Series will share top billing
with round six of the Sprintcar
Thunder Series where Veteran Ian Lewis
is locked into a titanic championship
struggle with young Turk
Troy
Little. The racing between these two
in all championship rounds so far has
been simply stunning and current
Australian divisional champion Tony
Moule, is back in the fray having
missed the last round and therefore
without doubt this round is sure to be
a huge three way battle for the lead.
Adding class to the competition will
be the likes of former Australian AMCA
Nationals champion Rick Barrand, last
start podium finisher Gavin Taylor,
championship contender Chris Solomon,
multiple state (NOS) Sportsman
champion Phillip Lock, Bendigo’s
Darren Hickman, Broken Hills Josh Ruhs,
Bordertowns John Steuart, and
Queenslander Anthony Vanderreyden.
Newcomers Brad Foster, Trevor
Cotterill, Sean Kuypers and Terry
Kelly will add to the more experienced
Paul Solomon, Frank Ramsdale and
Mildura’s Harold Brennan Jnr.
A full support program including the
burgeoning NOS Sprints, Speedcars and
Marsh Modifieds will be part of the
history making night this Saturday
